Kennedy Falls via Big Cedar Trail, North Vancouver

Big Cedar Trail is one of those trails that seems to get overlooked, or maybe people don’t speak of it on purpose. I’d like to think it’s the latter and for good reason. This hike is a gem. Not only do you get to see some of the biggest timbers around, but go a little ways further and you descend upon such a great treasure, Kennedy Falls. My reaction to the the falls was literally “Are you kidding me??” The roar and sight of the cascading waters were spectacular. Not to mention the really cool swim holes. “Summer, I’m sure has to be busier”, I thought.(We only came across one other person on this day).
The hike itself is a really cool up and down steady grade. I love hikes that make you move your body up and over logs and negotiate rocks and creeks.
Big Cedar Trail is lush, green and you really get the sense it never really truly dries out. Rain forest it is.
I’ll be going back, but please don’t tell anyone!!
